Renovation Reveal- It's Here!
Our Renovation Is Complete! Here's Exactly What We Did!
After an enormous amount of work our Forest Lakes Renovation is now complete! We are absolutely head over heels in love with our new look! My mom started Bright Beginnings Preschool in 1984 and it is truly incredible to see her vision come to life with this extensive remodel.
Since our Forest Lakes school is our oldest building we thought it would be the perfect school to renovate first! Through every step of the renovation process we made sure that our children would not be affected by the construction. We even stayed open throughout the 4 weeks of renovating. We hired an awesome construction crew out of Georgia to work throughout the week night's from 6pm to 6am and during the day on the weekends so there would be minimal impact on our kid's school days!
This project really was a team effort. We hired Better Beans Branding to head the renovation and to take care of all of the details and they delivered big time! We couldn't have done it without them. Knowing they cared not only about our vision but also our values as a family owned preschool made working with them so special. My Dad, Bob Petchel, woke up at 3am every day during the week for the entire month to ensure the school was in perfect condition for drop off each morning! My mom, Kathe Petchel, was a part of picking out every single item down to each paint color and light fixture. And here's a really fun fact- all the beautiful enlarged photographs of wildlife that are in the classrooms were taken by my dad from his travels around the world! He is such an incredible photographer, huh?! Also, all of the enlarged photographs we have around the building of preschoolers... are OUR preschoolers! We had a photographer come in to take pictures just for the Forest Lakes renovation!
So... you may be wondering what we did exactly to renovate? Well the answer is pretty much everything! The school looks like a completely new building!
Here's what we did:
New stunning wood flooring
Observation windows in our classrooms and Director's office to promote transparency and trust
New furniture throughout the entire school (tables, chairs, play sets)
New beautiful white cabinets in our classrooms and kitchen
Gorgeous Glass entry doors with our Bright Beginnings logo on them
Non-toxic paint throughout the entire school
New bathroom appliances
New countertops throughout the entire building
Tangerine accent walls to add a bit of "pop!" to our classrooms
Classroom Under Cabinet dimmable lighting (great for soft lighting during nap time!)
New adorable classroom signs
Beautiful large Canvas photos hung of our Bright Beginnings kids
Refurbished lobby with shiplap walls, a beautiful desk for our Director, new cabinets for storage, (and proper counter space for our our coffee machine!) reclaimed wood shelves
Brand new doors
New sinks
An updated sign on the end of our property
Gorgeous enlarged wildlife photographs in all classrooms (taken by my Dad!)
Beautiful enlarged photographs of our Bright Beginnings kids throughout the building
New LED lighting throughout the entire building
State of the art security cameras for training purposes
And we still have a few small finishing touches that we are currently working on over the next few weeks!
